Privacy Policy
Effective September 17, 2026
This policy explains what StoreBadger ("we", "us") collects when you use the service at storebadger.com, why, and what you can do about it. We've kept it short on purpose; if anything is unclear, email support@storebadger.com.
What we collect
- Your email address. It's your login (we send sign-in links to it) and where alerts go. We don't collect a password because there isn't one.
- The store domains you ask us to watch, any labels you give them, and the public product and price data we read from those stores on your behalf.
- Your email preferences: the hour you want your daily digest and your time zone. We detect the time zone from your browser the first time you open your dashboard; you can change it there.
- Billing details if you upgrade. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and the subscription status so we know which plan you're on.
- Basic technical logs such as request timestamps, IP addresses and error messages, used to keep the service running and to limit abuse. These are not used to profile you.
What we don't collect
We don't use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. The only cookie we set is the one that keeps you signed in. We never connect to your Shopify admin, and we never ask for access to it.
How we use it
To run the service you signed up for: checking the stores you chose, emailing you when something changes, sending you sign-in links, and processing your subscription. We don't sell your data and we don't share it with anyone except the providers below, who process it only on our instructions.
Who else touches your data
- Supabase hosts our database.
- Resend delivers our emails (sign-in links and alert digests).
- Stripe processes payments and manages subscriptions.
- Our hosting provider runs the application servers.
Each of these has its own privacy policy and security practices. Some of them are located outside Canada, which means your data may be stored or processed in other countries.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. If you remove a watched store, its product history is deleted with it. If you want your whole account deleted, email support@storebadger.com from the address on the account and we'll remove it, normally within a few days. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires them to.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@storebadger.com. If you're in a jurisdiction that gives you additional rights (for example under PIPEDA in Canada or the GDPR in Europe), you have those too, and the same address is the way to exercise them.
What other people can see
Nothing about which stores you watch is shown to anyone else. The alerts on our home page are made-up examples, not real users' data.
Data from the stores we watch
The product and price information we collect from watched stores is publicly available data those stores publish to every visitor. We read it in the same way a browser would, once a day, identify ourselves in the request, and don't attempt to access anything that isn't public.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
